Artist Name: John Burns
John Burns has been an artist for over twenty years. In the beginning he concentrated mainly on lead pencil drawings with a lot of detail, which led on to experimenting with watercolour. From watercolours John advanced to oil painting, once again with a very accurate and precise style. He painted miniature works, one taking as long as nine months at over fourty hours a week of solid painting using a small magnifying glass and a very fine brush. John worked for a while in an oil painting consrvation studio full time as a retouch artist, patching up the old and often very badly damaged and cracked paintings. After working on other people's paintings, John discovered the desire toproduce his own creations. He finally moved into painting with acrylics and enjoys the constant strive for texture and body. John is now a thoughly modern artist with no formal training, except what he has learned reading about the old masters and their techniques and has learned through personal trial and error. Each of Johns works are created to stand the test of time. He believes that they are all living works and will only go only to the person to which they choose.
