Artist Name: Jolie De Gaia
Jolie De-Gaia has always had a passion for everything to do with art. Her inspiration is influenced by what is going on around her, as she sources her subject matter from her own life experience and transforms these ideas into symbols/signs that represent different aspects in her art. Recently Jolie works predominately with mixed media on hand-made papers. This process begins with gathering the fibres to make the paper. Once made, she often cuts or tears the paper and stitch it back together to construct her composition. Jolie then works paint onto the surface then machine and hand stitches the details then often layers on more paper to create the interesting effects that is characteristic of this young artist's work.
