Artist Name: Flamedaisy
Anthony Holt Genet and Berinthia Ruth Binnie, born in Dunedin, together operate Flamedaisy, a fulltime glassblowing, neon and lampworking studio based in Nelson, New Zealand. Anthony, born in Christchurch, works as the gaffer, while Dunedin born Berinthia acts as his assistant. All the unique works they produce are designed collaboratively. Anthony learned the basics of glass blowing at Wanganui Polytechic before leaving to explore the art on his own, as well as having had the privilege of assisting some of New Zealand more experienced glassblowers before commiting to his own studio. A Photograpy Major graduate from Otago School of Art, Berinthia has worked artistically from childhood. Although painting and sculpture are her first loves and all her skills in glass have been self taught, through Flamedaisy she has explored and exploited the painterly qualities of hot glass.
