Rex Homan Sculpture is a piece of history. A form fashioned from weathered wood, mainly Kauri, recovered by the artist from the banks of Tairua River and ocean coastline near his Tairua Home. It started as a fun idea but popularity has resulted in the creation of hundreds of these stylised fish sculptures over the past few years. The fish are created with minimal shaping of the weathered piece, retention of its unique, individual characteristics being the prime consideration. The artist hopes you enjoy living with your Sharlin or Tunacouta or Barraking or Marko or whatever fish strikes your fancy!
