Artist Name: Gaeleen Morley
Gaeleen Morley has been a clay worker for more than 30 years. Gaeleen started initially as a production potter, making wheel-thrown domestic ware fired in a brick home-built diesel fired kiln. The kiln is 90 cubic feet, reaching temporatures of 1300 degrees Celsius. The majority of work created by Gaeleen is now built by hand, with the addition of some wheel-thrown pots. "I am compassionate about colour and texture. The glazes I use have been formulated over many years of experimentation and readjustment. Some work needs to be fired as many as six times to create a depth I feel satisfied with. The unpredictability of raku firing allows a uniqueness to the pieces."
