Artist Name: Denise Hunter
Denise Hunter was born in Wydham, Southland New Zealand and studied at Southland Polytech Visual Communication Course. Denise worked as a graphic artist for twenty years but has now dedicated herself to her own artistic career. As an artist she had the opportunity to explore many different techniques, which she finds very interesting and stimulating. From watercolour, acrylic, gouche, oil pastel to oils, Denise paints in these mediums as she enjoys the sensitive reflection of light and life that she can achieve. Denise realises the importance of colour as a means of instantly creating a mood, a feeling or a passion. Light and colour combine brillantly to bring together the form of Denise's various subject matters, which vary according to the energy and excitement they bring her. Her inspiration may come from the colours of a flower in her garden to the light and form of a nude figure, as long as they capture a magic that Denise loves to explore.
