Artist Name: Ginny Wilkins
Ginny Wilkins was born in 1967 in Southland and has lived there all my life. My childhood was spent on a farm in Wreys Bush with my family until I left to attend boarding school at St Catherine's College in Invercargill. On leaving secondary school Ginny worked in the banking industry and then worked for Air New Zealand for many years. It wasn't until after her second child was born that Ginny discovered her passion for art. She attended night school painting classes at Mt Anglem College and quickly became addicted. The very first painting that she sent to a gallery was quickly sold, prophetic of how popular her work was to become, and Ginny has been creating wonderful works of art ever since. Ginny's paintings show how much she enjoys sharing her love of colour and her fondness of the Italian landscape. Only through the medium of Acrylic does Ginny find the vibrant colours that she revels in and which suit her personal style of illustrating her various subject matters.
